Frost VP is a highly focused investment and incubator vehicle created by Stuart Frost designed to quickly and thoroughly exploit the tremendous opportunities available today in the cloud and big data revolutions. Stuart Frost founded DATAllegro in 2003 and sold the company to Microsoft in 2008 for $275m (26x trailing revenues). DATAllegro was part of the first wave of the big data revolution and was a market leader in very large-scale data warehouse appliances. After the acquisition, Stuart initially led the $1bn data warehousing group and was then given responsibility for strategy across the $7bn SQL Server database division. After two years, he left Microsoft and used his big data market knowledge to create and incubate a series of startups. To date, Stuart has founded four big data companies (Predixion Software, Cirro, Lineage & Kumo) and has become Chairman of a fifth (GenieDB). Frost VP was created to be a robust and scalable vehicle to take these activities to a whole new level.
Frost VP comprises a family of affiliated companies and investment vehicles providing all of the components we believe are critical to success in high-tech ventures:
